EOS International is run by a volunteer staff that is located throughout the United States and Nicaragua. This diversity in location presents obvious challenges, but it forces us to develop innovative communication methods and allows us to spread our mission in each of our own communities. Here is our staff for 2010:

Greg McGrath | Executive Director; Elk Grove, CA
Greg graduated from Iowa State University in 2008 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Spanish and is currently a Packaging Systems Engineer at General Mills. While studying at Iowa State, Greg gained experience in designing systems utilizing sustainable engineering principles and appropriate technology. Greg has worked in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mali on projects including drip irrigation systems, water valve design, off-grid lighting systems, biomass cook stoves, and sustainable building design. In his travels, Greg has gained insight on development by working with rural farmers and NGOs.
Joe Lamusga | Finance Director; Indianapolis, IN
Joe graduated from Iowa State University in 2007 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and is currently a Design Engineer for Rolls-Royce (think planes, not cars) in Indianapolis, IN. Joe has always had an interest in development and became passionate about this field when he spent part of a summer in Sri Lanka after the devastating tsunami. There, he was able to witness first hand both the difficult conditions that people in the developing world face and the great potential contained in the Sri Lankan people. Joe focused mainly on construction and education while in Sri Lanka and split his days between rebuilding a leveled village and teaching basic English to any who wished to learn. Joe is excited to bring his passion for people and his technical knowledge of mechanical design to EOS International.
David Lohry | Drip Irrigation Project Manager; Knoxville, TN
David joined EOS International in June 2009 and is currently serving as Project Manager for the drip irrigation installations in Nicaragua. After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, David went to work for Tate and Lyle where he helped engineer and manage the startup of an energy efficient process for fuel grade ethanol production. After seeing the technological improvements and emphasis on energy conservation in manufacturing facilities, David is excited to bring these core values to developing countries.
Wes Meier | Nicaragua Country Director; El Sauce, Nicaragua
Wes graduated from Iowa State University in 2008 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently carrying out a Peace Corps volunteer assignment in rural Nicaragua. There, Wes is working with the Agriculture Sector to improve food security and the quality of life through appropriate technology and community development. Wes has gained relevant experience by working on energy system designs in Honduras as well as appropriate water valve design and biomass cook stoves in Mali, Africa.
Lando Roberts | Volunteer Coordinator; Albia, IA
Lando is a 2009 graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. During his time at ISU, Lando had multiple opportunities to independently travel and/or volunteer in Brazil, Egypt, Mali, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Russia and Europe. During these travels he delivered school supplies and a computer lab to an earthquake impacted school in Pisco, Peru, further developed and expanded sustainable rural lighting and electrification projects for off-grid rural villages in Mali. He has traveled to Nicaragua twice with EOS, implementing drip irrigation systems and building ovens. These experiences inspired Lando to partner with EOS International to develop opportunities for people looking for a way to volunteer and make a difference in the developing world. He hopes to pursue a lifelong career in International Development.
Megan Sellheim | Marketing Coordinator; St. Paul, MN
Megan has a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the 2006 Iowa State University class. After studying at Iowa State, Megan spent three months traveling in Europe before going to work in St. Paul, MN as a Manufacturing Technology engineer at 3M. Her European travels left her with the travel bug and she has since traveled to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa observing difficult living situations and the need for wider use of appropriate and sustainable technology development around the world. Megan just returned from living in India for 7 months and is excited to take on a new role with EOS as Marketing Coordinator.
Mike Vanacora | Director of Operations; Reed City, MI
Mike is a 2008 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently in Operations Management at General Mills. While studying at Minnesota, Mike focused on using green technologies to develop practical engineering solutions. Currently at General Mills Mike is the leader of the sustainability team focused on reducing energy and water usage on the production floor. His love of traveling has shown him areas all over the world that can greatly benefit from the use of appropriate technologies. Mike will be pursuing his MBA this fall and hopes to continue expanding the reach of EOS and the impact that we can deliver.
Alvaro Rodriguez | Nicaragua Technology Manager; El Sauce, Nicaragua
Alvaro Rodriguez joined the EOS Team as our first international member this August. He will be managing projects and daily operations in Nicaragua. A personal bio is coming soon.
